Hot Hits: Greece is the Word!

I found the following images during a trawl of the internet, and thought readers would be interested in seeing them. (I was looking for something else - funny how these things just pop up.) The album is a Greek pressing in the Hot Hits series, called volume 8 - but see if you can spot anything amiss...

OK - no prizes for the following:
  • The typeface on the front is different to the usual UK album
  • The label is not mfp - it's EMI/Regal
  • The photo on the back is the same as on the front (see below)
Back of UK sleeve

What you may not notice at once is that this Greek pressing is not what it claims to be. It is not a pressing of Hit Hits 8; it is in fact a unique compilation of tracks from the series. It includes three tracks from Hot Hits 7 ("Freedom Come Freedom Go", "Tweedle Dee Tweedle Dum" and "Tap Turns On The Water") plus four from Hot Hits 9 ("I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing", "Softly Whispering I Love You", "Brand New Key" and "Theme From Shaft") with just five from Hot Hits 8. (The fact that it includes material from volume 9 proves it was a later release.)

As it turns out, this is not the only such collection released in Greece. The LP below came out a while later. With artwork based on the UK Hot Hits 10, it contains recordings from volumes 12, 13 and 14!
